The benefits of softened water
Hard or soft. The type of water in your home can have a huge effect on your laundry. Soap and detergents do not work well with hard water, with dissolved minerals such as calcium and magnesium, inhibiting the effectiveness of many cleaning products.
Soap scum and mineral residue could leave your clothes becoming dull and discoloured far quicker when frequently washed in hard water. Not only this, these mineral residues often result in hard and scratchy towels and sheets that can irritate skin. Soft water on the other hand gives fabrics a fluffy and comfy look and feel against skin, and leaves clothes looking new for longer.
Continual use of hard water gradually builds up layers of limescale in pipework, which can reduce water flow to your washing machine and dishwasher.
Your kitchen appliances will naturally last much longer as well as working to their designed efficiency.
It is not common knowledge, but soft water makes your hair look glossier too.
If your skin feels, dry, itchy and irritated, continual washing in hard water may be contributing to this.
Softened water has a reduced mineral content so the taste is free to be enjoyed with the unsightliness of scummy films absent.
Would it be too bold to say that softened water improves eczema and psoriasis? Inadvertently it does.
