The benefits of softened water
Softened water tastes better! Sadly hard water can not only leave a scummy film on the surface of your tea, but the abundance of calcium and magnesium minerals can leave a residual taste that can mask some of the delicious flavours and aromas of even some of the best Breakfast brews.
There is even some evidence to suggest that the effectiveness of the beneficial anti-oxidants found in tea is also reduced. Softened water has a reduced mineral content so the taste is free to be enjoyed with the unsightliness of scummy films absent. So why spoil the taste of what is clearly the greatest of British drinks!
Continual use of hard water gradually builds up layers of limescale in pipework, which can reduce water flow to your washing machine and dishwasher.
Your kitchen appliances will naturally last much longer as well as working to their designed efficiency.
It is not common knowledge, but soft water makes your hair look glossier too.
If your skin feels, dry, itchy and irritated, continual washing in hard water may be contributing to this.
Softened water has a reduced mineral content so the taste is free to be enjoyed with the unsightliness of scummy films absent.
Would it be too bold to say that softened water improves eczema and psoriasis? Inadvertently it does.
